Call Courier Tracking Glossary: Terms Explained

A quick reference for the terms that show up around a Call Courier consignment, including the PostEx-era vocabulary that trips people up on older receipts.

Consignment Number (CN)

The 11 to 14 digit code the search box on this site actually looks up. Not the same as a merchant order number, even though both often appear on the same receipt.

Manifest

The digital record a merchant creates when they book a shipment. This happens before physical pickup, which is why a brand-new CN can show no scans yet without anything being wrong.

Hub Transit

The stretch between cities where a sealed container truck carries your parcel. No individual scans happen during this leg, only on arrival at the next hub.

Rider Assignment

The point where a specific delivery rider is handed your parcel for local drop-off, usually the last scan before Out for Delivery appears.

Delivery Attempt / Customer Unreachable

Logged when a rider tries and fails to reach you, whether by phone or at the door. Usually recoverable, but it's worth updating your address or landmark details before the next attempt.

Return to Shipper (RTS)

After repeated failed attempts, a parcel gets routed back to the merchant instead of retried indefinitely. If it hasn’t left the local station yet, a hold request can sometimes intercept it.

Cash on Delivery (COD)

Payment collected at the door instead of online. Standard practice is full payment before the package is opened, since the rider isn’t authorized to inspect contents or issue refunds.

Legacy CN

A consignment number issued before the PostEx integration, under the old Call Courier system. The search box here accepts the format either way, though whether a specific legacy CN still resolves isn't something this site can confirm without trying it.

Gateway

The shared backend that both Call Courier and PostEx bookings route through today. It’s why a receipt might say either brand name and still work the same way in the tracker.
